Sphere: The Great Undercroft almost exclusively, but occur naturally in the Forlorn Ashland.

Abilities: The great fiery steeds of Belial's legions, the Nightmare itself takes on the appearance of either a black-furred or skeletal horse wreathed in flame that incinerates the ground it treads upon. Nightmares are the base steeds for cavalier units in Inferis' armies, and it is said that a Nightmare forms a truly unholy telepathic yet subliminal communicative link with their rider which can mentally destroy the lesser of will. In spite of this, few are exposed to the full brunt of the Nightmare's true connection.
Do not be fooled; for even without a rider, the Nightmare is a formidable opponent, with a harrowing cry, unmatched equestrian speed and strength in its charge, and limited pyrokinesis, it can leave you burnt, bruised, and broken: and unlike the charging horses of olde on Earth who were simply confused, Nightmares are very much aware of the goings-on around them: and silently vicious in response to it.
Miscellaneous Notes: - Sometimes armoured for front-line troops.
- Vary in size from that of a Shetland Pony to twice or even three times the size of your normal horse.
- Occasionally there occur feral Nightmares, without riders or bonds all their lives.
