FACELESS CHAMPION
Name: Faceless Champion
Aliases: Faceless Ones, Faceless Knights, The Inhuman
Sphere: The Great Undercroft
Tier: Regular
Picture:
Abilities: The Faceless Champions, as the latter half of their name would suggest, are few and far between. This does not mean, however, that they are necessarily elite; infact, whilst their tactical knowledge is apt, their semantic concept of almost anything bar warfare tactics is utterly barren. They bark unintelligible orders in a low baritone of Demonic that most humans struggle to discern with, their sentence structure is pitiful, and they are quiet to the point that the only time their ominous voice looms past those golden spirals of fixed faceplates is to indeed give an order.
Faceless Champions are in and of themselves typically found heading off larger groups, platoons of anywhere from three or four to up to around a dozen. After that, they're lumped into larger battalions usually commanded by a more elite unit. As of themselves, they serve as one of two staple varieties of the Undercroft heavy unit, primarily heavy damage-dealing as opposed to the more tank-oriented Colossus.
Faceless Champions themselves seem to have a limited degree of metallurgy, typically crafting some form of two-handed melee weapon. They seem to have a particular draw to lances, greatswords, and battleaxes, though it's not unheard of for them to carry scythes, glaives, mauls, or even muskets. They never tend to carry any sort of advanced firearms technology.
They also appear to be grafted to their armour, and tests would suggest that it's made of biological material, similar to scales. Their essence itself is actually bound to the armour, meaning that its use as a defense is slightly limited - it will cause them pain to strike it, and they feel through it, and though it is resilient and their pain threshold is high, think of it as skin first rather than armour. Their sight appears not to be impeded in spite of having no visible eyes.
Miscellaneous Notes: - Removing the face panel - as difficult as it is, typically requiring super strength to pull off, and it will almost never collapse, requiring mammoth weights - will kill a Champion instantly.
- Speak only Demonic.
