PARIAH
Name: Pariah
Aliases: Trooper, Modern Soldier, Spaec Marnies
Sphere: The Great Undercroft
Tier: Regular
Picture:
Abilities: Modernised armour, a slew of Soul Energy-powered gadgets, and typically armed to the teeth with everything from rifles to pistols and even down to plasma-edged knives as an absolute last resort, the Pariah is one of the Demons' more up to date. However, in Inferis, this counts for much less; and though the Pariah is still a deadly enemy, the fact that it's flimsy and slightly less capable in close-combat than most shines through.
Typically loud and fast in their oncoming and dispatched in squadrons of three or five, the Pariahs open fire with anything from plasma rifles to shotguns - versatile for the specific operations - on their enemies, sprinting around and finding cover as best they can. However, their armour, whilst offering good protection against natural hazards and ranged projectiles, at close-combat falters swiftly after a single hit and will cause them to fall. Essentially: they are the rapid-fire expendable glass cannons of the Undercroft.
Their visors and communication systems allow a group of Pariahs to work intelligently and tactically for the good of the team, and they tend to speak both fluent Demonic and English, making them nearer the smarter end of the spectrum, low defense ability, and expendable nature is a trade-off for their versatility and apparent use in many situations.
Miscellaneous Notes: - Normally dispatched in balanced squads. A three-man Pariah squadron will typically all be fitted with mid-range assault rifles, whereas a five-man typically has a versatile grouping, one with a heavy weapon (explosive typically), one with a long-range weapon, one with a close-range weapon, and two with assault rifles. All tend to have flashbang grenades, plasma-charged ion pistols, and plasma-edged combat knives.
- Above typical aptitude when against mechanical or autonomous enemies, be they full or partially so.
- Colour-coded dependent upon weapon. Heavy units take a red tint to their armour. Snipers take a teal tint. CQB specialists take a gold tint. Regular assault rifle users take the standard white armour.
