CONTAGIO CONTAGIUM MORTIS
Name: Contagio Contagium Mortis
Aliases: The Zombie Virus, The Blightscape Virus, The B-Virus, Micro-Demons, D-Virus, Z-Virus, A-Virus (After Asmodeus), The Plague
Sphere: While Contagio Contagium Mortis thrives in the Blightscape, it is viciously contagious, and has the potential to spread like wildfire throughout all planes. This, however, has been avoided through Lucifer's all powerful efforts.
Tier: Regular.
Picture:
Contagio Contagium Mortis is perhaps one of the most outlandish demons known because it does not manifest as a creature with sharp pointy teeth and a hellish bloodlust. Instead, the demon takes the form of microscopic bacteria, being completely invisible to the naked eye. Much like tiny insects, they will burrow their way into one's flesh and eat it inside out, eventually working its way to the brain and shutting it down. After this is accomplished, the virus will assume control of the body and use it as a host, creating a creature with primal intelligence. Perhaps the most terrifying aspect of this demon is that it not only lives on land and flesh, but also thrives in the air and water.
Abilities: Infection. This painful process does take several steps to complete, and it is possible to cleanse one's body before it takes full effect. This is a tiresome effort, and requires not medication, but multiple holy cleasings. This is often a fatal mistake for the unwary Demon Hunter, but a well known fact to the Templar Order.
The virus will begin by making it's host feel fatigued and tired, which is a subtle change for some, making it hard to detect in this stage. However, after two weeks, the infected's supernatural abilities (Apparatus, Evocations, Augments, etc.), if they have any, well cease to work as their brain slowly becomes disconnected from their body. After the third week, the horror movie grade occurrences begin to happen as your skin begins to peel and rot. At a month, the host's body will be zombie like in appearance, and their mind disconnected, now a feral beast. However, it is still possible to cleanse the body at this point, but after two months, that option is no longer present.
Miscellaneous Notes: - Created by Asmodeus to "brighten up" the Blightscape. It still continues to amuse her.
- DEMON HUNTER'S TRAVEL GUIDE: The disease seems to spread almost a hundred times more quickly when directly bit by a carrier of these demons. Within days one can be mindless in this way.
