DAMNED DIRGEMAN
Name: Damned Dirgeman
Aliases: Hell’s Marching Band, Paimon’s Folly, Bedlam’s Orchestra
Sphere: Spirelands
Tier: Regular
Picture:
Abilities: The Musicians of Hell, formed from those who sold their soul on the railroads to play the blues… or really any other sort of music. While a large number of these souls would claim that the Devil himself gave them their musical talents, the truth of the matter is many of them had cross deals with Paimon. In Death as in Life, the Dirgemen play forever on seeking that perfect chord or perfect lyric that they’ll be damned to never reach. The vast majority of these demons either wander individually or form “bands” who have similar ideologies or styles, wandering the wastes of Infernis doing what they can to survive. When encountered in a fight, the Dirgemen will use their music to battle and is rather individualized as per encounter. All Dirgemen are followed by floating versions of the instruments they played in life which can be used either as shields or bludgeoning weapons at the Dirgeman’s will. Usually a singular Dirgeman will have a weak sonic ability, generally being able to screech out a particularly awful note to deafen or confuse enemies. Large groups of Dirgemen, however, can create devastating cacophonies of noise that can prove to be effective as a siege weapon. Rarely there might be Boss-Level Dirgemen who have very unique musical skills such as being able to control others through sound.
Miscellaneous Notes: A bunch of these fellows along with some rogue Ash Balls make up a part of Paimon’s legions, making it perhaps the most annoying and loud musical experiments to ever exist. Also, you might want to take note of their instruments and era-specific clothing as some of the older Classical Dirgemen might take an affront if you ask them to play something modern. They all, however, seem to have an affinity for the Blues…probably because they all have them.
