DJINN
Name: Djinn
Aliases: All-Seer, Genie, Enlightened One
Sphere: Always wandering.
Tier: Elite. Very rare.
Picture:
Abilities: Psychic mediums in life, the Djinni of Inferis found a connection to the afterworld that established a moral fear in most. This is for those who found some extrasensory perception and decided to use it for more macabre means. The worst and most horrifying amongst the enlightened humans, in death, become Djinni, immortal beings who can live forever in their ethereal nature.
Only said to exist less than fifty in all of Inferis, all Djinni are shackled to a moral obligation enforced by Lucifer himself. When approached by another lifeform, Demon or not, the Djinni must offer them a chance to "fulfil a wish". However, the Devil has a twisted ideal of wishes themselves; and the cackling Djinni, though they must grant it, typically do so in an ironic or twisted manner. For instance: once a Demon Hunter approached a Djinn, asking him for a sharper blade. The Djinni responded by conjuring said blade, then taking in it in its hands and running the Hunter through.
Djinni are invincible. There are no two ways about this. They cannot be destroyed or killed in the corporeal sense. Their essences can be obliterated by the powers of an Archdemon, but over time they will simply regenerate and reform. But Djinni feed on the idiocy of others; and though their battle prowess is great, they seldom choose to show it save for in their ironic granting a wish. Djinni love games of logic; and the only way to truly beat one is to confuse or puzzle it, and doing so will somehow cause the Soul Energy that binds their existence to unravel, and their essence will shatter.
Miscellaneous Notes: - Djinni can choose who they approach in offering this wish, but if they are approached, one of their first conversational responses must be to offer a wish.
- Djinni can take on many human-esque images, but their ethereal nature is not dissimilar from a spectre or a ghost. See above for reference; though the hair and eye colour change dependent upon the Djinn, and they all possess Mortal Forms, their Demon Forms are oft maintained.
- Over half a dozen Djinni have challenged Lucifer in a game of logic hoping to depose him and rule Inferis for themselves. None have triumphed. The same goes for all Archdemons - Djinni tend to hold a level of respect for them.
